La Loge

La Loge has been imaginatively converted
from a stone barn, retaining much of the exposed stone
and many of the original old beams, to provide quality accommodation
for four people. The ground floor has traditional style tiles throughout,
with poplar ceilings above the beams, whilst the first floor has
a natural coir floorcovering (except the kitchen area which is tiled)
and a chestnut ceiling.
Situated in its own large Courtyard, which is equipped
with dining table and chairs, umbrella, reclining loungers and barbecue,
La Loge benefits from a south-facing aspect. To one side of the
Courtyard is the Bakehouse (with the original Bread Oven restored
as a feature), the roof of which extends to provide a shaded eating-out
area. There is a small adjacent field with trees, to which visitors
have access.

You enter via the door from the Courtyard
into an entrance hall leading to the bedrooms and the bathroom.
An oak open-tread staircase leads up to the large, sunny, first
floor living room with kitchen, dining area and lounge, where you
are back at ground level. The house is almost at the top of the
hill and built against the rock, so could be called 'split level'!

The large kitchen area has fitted limed-oak units with tiled worksurfaces,
and is well-equipped with an electric fan oven, microwave, fridge
with freezer compartment, dishwasher, toaster, coffee-maker and electric
kettle, and a corner canopy over a ceramic hob. There are adequate
supplies of cooking utensils, attractive crockery, cutlery and glassware
not only for four occupants but also for any visitors you may have.
A washing machine and tumble drier are also provided.

From the dining area, double French windows facing
west, up across the field, let in the evening sun, and comfortable
seating is provided in the large adjacent lounge area, where the
cast iron wood-burning stove is an attractive feature for out-of-season
lets. There is a television, which receives Free-to-Air programmes including BBC and ITV as well as English language Radio, and a DVD/CD Player. Unlimited Broadband is available free-of-charge.

There are two bedrooms with new beds and attractive
pine furniture. Duvets and UK size pillows are provided, and linen
and towels can be supplied at a small extra charge. A pine cot
and high-chair are available if required.

Bedroom 1 - double bed
Bedroom 2 - twin beds
Bathroom with WC, handbasin and bath with thermostatically-controlled
shower over.
All rooms are equipped with electric convector
heaters for use if required.
Full oil-fired central heating is installed and may be used
by arrangement at a supplement of £40.00 per week.
